Hi, my name is Haddie. Today I’m going to tell you about the tide pools at Bar Harbor KOA. I found shells, clams, periwinkles, and even a LIVE CLAM!!! We kept seeing water shooting out of the sand. Mom looked it up and it was clams. They spit water to help them dig deeper.
The tides go in and out four times a day. When the tides go out, you can walk on the ocean floor. When the moon is Full or New, the tides levels are extreme. Those are called spring tides. They have nothing to do with Spring. It’s because they spring forward.
Hope you liked this blog post!!!!
Great information! I didn’t know any of that! Pictures are very good. Thank you for sharing what you are learning!
The tides ebb and flow four times each day? Who knew? I blow a lot when I work hard. Maybe I got a little bit of clam in me. Or, we both need more oxygen when we work hard.
What good info! Sure like the photos, too.
Good typing Haddie! Sad I went home before the clam finding!
